inSingapore: VivoCity

I’ve been to VivoCity a few times, yet never really explored the waterfront. I guess that’s because the MRT conveniently takes you into the mall, so you never have to step outdoors at all.

So when a friend suggested we meet up and we decided on VivoCity, I took the opportunity to do so.

The overwhelming impression is of Curves:

I approve of the curvy shapes, but like with most contemporary buildings, I would prefer the outdoor areas to have more plants and shade, rather than such a minimalist approach which isn’t practical in the tropical sun.

For example, I think there should be more shaded areas like this one:

Not the most handsome view in the world — with the Sentosa shuttle trains and the nearby port in the background — but I still find the waterfront here relaxing.
